My interest in art was sparked when an art teacher offered extracurricular art classes at my high school. In the same year I started attending, I won the award for best senior high school art.
My art career immediately set of and I would draw photo realistic portrait commissions.
I studied art at UNISA and received my Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts in 2006. UNISA however, didn't offer much training in technical execution and were primarily focussed on a conceptual outcome. During this time, my art often presented more as
sculptural installations. I enjoyed this immensely but still practiced my drawing techniques as a personal hobby.
My intentions of enrolling for my Master's Degree in Visual Arts were brought to a halt when my father, one of my biggest supporters, passed away in 2007. I was left taking care of my mother with advanced cancer.
I had to enter the workforce immediately to help support my mother. Art took a backseat
as I started working as a Graphic Designer for a company who manufactures casino slot machine glasses. My mother passed away in 2009. I continued advancing in my professional career and I am currently the Production Manager at Visual
Promotions Pty(LTD). I am extremely fortunate in that I absolutely love my job. I'm still afforded the opportunity to express myself creatively, in both my day to day work, as
well as in some side projects the company is involved in like laser cutting and glass fusing.
My love for art remains undiminished and I work, almost obsessively, on my art in
my free time. I absolutely love drawing.
