About "Divorce"

This art work is about a woman whose husband went out of country to look for a job. Her husband spent some months and engaged to a work, he was earning a lot of money that caused him to forget about his wife and marries another wife. The life was new for him, working a special job, earning a lot of money, accommodation free and more benefits, his mind turned and said the pregnant wife at home is ugly. I better marry another one and forgot about her, he marries and ignored the woman. Later he wrote a divorce letter to inform her that he no longer loves her. The woman suffered a lot, no support of food, clothes and no clothes for the future baby. She straggled everything for her life and future baby. Most of the time she sheds tears when she thoughts of her husband as abusing. Time passed on and she gave birth to a baby boy and named him the name of her former husband. The community were very happy and they helped her. The long suffering of the woman was a really public abusing which caused me feel sad about it. I created this work of a divorced pregnant woman to show that it is a public abusing and act of ignorance.

About Tawengwa

Drawing human portraits, environment and landscapes, inspires me as an artist. I realised that this is really the talent that God gives me. My art is formed with different colours, where by each colour has its own meaning. I use acrylic paint, water colours, oil paint on canvas and on boards. The nature influences me and as a talent and self-taught. I grew up to the level where I am.
