About "Kalahari Pride"
I just love the inherent dignity and proud nature of this young man
Cathy Milner lives and works on a farm just outside Stellenbosch. She gives art lessons as well as working on her paintings, etchings and drawings. She is largely influenced by the surrounding landscape of the Boland and being a keen local traveller, other dramatic areas around the Western Cape. She is also interested in figure painting and trying to capture the inherent personality of the model or subject she has chosen to paint. She is also running an art workshop at her studio for the local children from the surrounding farms. She co ordinates and gives art lessons to them in conjunction with the Pebbles project, which helps children with Foetal Alcohol Syndrome and children living with the effects of alcohol abuse.
