About Tim

Tim Glasby

I am a 43 year old professional fine artist. I work full-time from my East London based art studio, in South Africa. I have been an active fine artist for 20 years, and have been commissioned to do many oil paintings and/or pencil drawings by a global clientele.
I am a Photorealist, and so I attempt to use my technical and artistic skills to create perfectly exact PORTRAITS of my subjects, whatever they may be. It takes me as long as 14 working days to do some of my pencil drawings, and up to 6 months to produce 60cm x 90cm oil paintings.
I work from reference photos that I take myself, or from those supplied by my clients. Where required, I can cut and join images to images, and images to backgrounds, according to my clients needs. I charge according to how long each original artwork takes.

Exhibitions

My latest two oil paintings were exhibited at the 2010 Grahamstown National Arts Festival, one as part of the SIGWESILE art exhibition (Albany History Museum), and the other as part of the TOWNSHIP LIFE/XPIERIENCE art exhibition (Barrat Art Centre).
