About "And the Dust Came"
Global warming is affecting many places around the world. ...The cause of global warming is the increasing quantity of greenhouse gases in the our atmosphere produced by humans. Stop Cutting Down Trees--Every year, 33 million acres of forests are cut down. Timber harvesting in the tropics alone contributes 1.5 billion metric tons of carbon to the atmosphere. Changes in forest management and agricultural practices could significantly reduce the threat of global warming much more quickly than can technological solutions such as carbon capture and storage (CCS) from coal-fired power plants, according to experts.

About Bernadette
I've been drawing and painting as far back as recollection allows, attending informal art classes with respected artist Rae Bauer since school going age and throughout my primary school years. Tertiary education included studying Theatre Technology and Fine Art at Wits Technikon.
Working life in summary includes a stint as an illustrator for Upbeat youth educational magazine, special needs teacher aide and informal art teacher, 15 years as an Art & Persian Rug Exhibition Organizer & Coordinator. I have taken part in numerous exhibitions in Johannesburg, East London, Grahamstown and New Zealand. My artwork is in private and corporate collections in South Africa, Zambia, USA, New Zealand, UK, China, Australia and Spain. A strong affinity to both Africa and New Zealand - the people, culture and nature - are reflected in many of my artworks. Conservation is something I am passionate about and many of my artworks in that genre are outspoken and confrontational about the ills of human distruction. Although oil painting is a predominant medium, I love the simplicity of drawing and find value in its purity. I enjoy the unleashing of creativity through the use of unconventional organic pigments and drawing tools, often using coffee, tea and turmeric etc as grounds for graphite or charcoal sketches. The desire to create and ability to exact that drive, is a gift bestowed by the Creator - to whom I give praise and my unending thanks.
