About "Card Players"

(Reproduction of Frans Oerder)

The artist was inspired to do pen sketching by studying the life and work of the late Frans Oerder. He was a well known South African artist. Oerder’s Kaartspelers, is one of his best pen sketches. Other pen sketches by Van Zyl are: Garden tools at the shed, Geraniums at a farmhouse door and the Slave Bell.

About Anna

Anna Sophia Aletta Johanna van Zyl, an Educational Psychologist, studied art under guidance of Elize Olivier, Beau Art, Jeffreys Bay. She prefers working in acrylic, water colours and oil pastels. She also does pen sketches.

Anna finds her inspiration in the country life surroundings of the Eastern Cape in South Africa. She also loves doing replicas of the old masters.
