About "Drunken Bottle"
Just imagine a rum bottle clutched tightly. This prompted me to put finger imprints into the wood. The dense resinous wood, Lignum Vitae (tree of life)is found in the Caribbean basin and is quite rare. I only use the wood of dead trees and have planted seedlings in St Maarten and surrounding islands.
By the time I turned 32, I had been to the South Pole, become a naval officer, earned a degree in fine art at the University of Natal, built 3 sail boats, a house and found a wonderful wife.
3 Palms Restaurant, St Maarten, Dutch West Indies. Private collections in Holland, USA, Canada, Australia and South Africa
Graduated Fine Arts at University of Natal in 1976
