About "Harvest Season"
Ink wash painting, or sumi-e, is a type of East Asian brush painting that uses black ink - as used in East Asian calligraphy - in different concentrations. Emerging in Tang dynasty China, it, and associated stylistic features, overturned earlier, more realistic techniques
And of course today we use colors! The background of this painting, over two canvasses, were done with inks and the feathers in a white marker pen.

About Christel
Hi there
I grew up in Pretoria East. After school, I started my career as an Environmental Control Officer. Over the course of the next few years, I would work managing a Game Capture Team, and Managed a Game farm.
After working as an Industrial Engineering Draughtsman for 10 years, I chose a more creative path. I started with a variety of art mediums but have narrowed it down to painting, carving, macram[0xC3A9] and pewter.
Art for me is about telling a story. A blank canvas in front of an artist is both an adventure and a challenge. An adventure because you get to create something from scratch and a challenge because you don't always know how it's going to turn out. I guess it's this mystery that keeps me returning to the canvas.
I also work on commission, creating distinct pieces that will tell your story.
