About "Headdress"

There is a great fascination and mystery behind Native American Indian art, culture and beliefs. I wanted to portray the simplicity as well as the sense of power within this portrait. According to tradition the feathered head dress is believed to be of great spiritual and magical significance - one earns his place within the tribe and adorns a beautiful head dress upon his head. I really enjoyed drawing the head dress - each feather adding to the over impact within the portrait.

Christopher Meintjes is a talented artist and interior designer who grew up in cosmopolitan Johannesburg, South Africa.

Throughout my life I've showed a passion for the arts and after high school furthered my studies in interior architecture,graduating with distinction.

I find inspiration in pop culture, music as well as nature.My passion for life and adventure has provided me with the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life whilst travelling to far and exotic locations.
