About "Judge's Dilemma"
The judge's gavel was was traditionally made out of Lignum Vitae. I love the idea that these 4 joined gavels are impossible to use. The dense resinous wood, Lignum Vitae (tree of life)is found in the Caribbean basin and is quite rare. I only use the wood of dead trees and have planted seedlings in St Maarten and surrounding islands.
By the time I turned 32, I had been to the South Pole, become a naval officer, earned a degree in fine art at the University of Natal, built 3 sail boats, a house and found a wonderful wife.
3 Palms Restaurant, St Maarten, Dutch West Indies. Private collections in Holland, USA, Canada, Australia and South Africa
Graduated Fine Arts at University of Natal in 1976
