About Doug

Doug is a full-time photographer based in Cape Town, South Africa. He has had an interest in photography since his early schooldays, and has completed a course in professional photography. He is a versatile photographer and is equally at home outdoors or in a photographic studio. He runs his own photography and model management company.

His work available on SouthAfricanArtists.com consists of digital images printed on canvas, the main subjects being focused around wildlife, nature, and the outdoor environment. Canvas prints have a 3 inch (75 mm) wide white border as standard, and can be framed in the usual way or stretched over a wooden frame. Alternatively, a color-matched border may be requested.

Doug uses professional-quality DSLR camera bodies and lenses, and believes in preserving the original qualities of an image. In some images though, colors have been enhanced to the degree which optimally displays the vibrant colors of nature. In others, a particular color tone or effect may have been applied to emphasize the mood conveyed by, or the aesthetic qualities of, the image. Most images may be converted into black-and-white or sepia.
