About "Porcupine Zandvlei 2003"

This drawing is one of a series of ten drawings done recently for the Zandvlei trust Spring Festival held in conjunction with the international Kite Festival in Muizenberg. The object of the drawings as well as the exhibits and lectures organized by the Zandvlei trust was to give the general public a glimpse of the rich biodiversity to be found in this unique estuarine system which once extended from all around Zandvlei and across the Cape Flats. A small conservation area remains and is thus along with Rondevlei and the mountain chain of incalculable importance to our area

About David

David Osborne

I must admit that of late I am drawn to collages - found objects combined often in paradoxical with a satirical edge. few galleries this side of the Atlantc are partial to my sense of irony - so be it and as a consequence I am writing satirical pieces including plays, snippets untsoweiter . What inspires me ? Nature the awesome beauty and complex it yof the natural world in contrast to the pitiless stupidity and arrogance of our species. What does an Artist say when confronted with the real issues of today?
