Reference Life-size sculptures About "Reflecting Shadow I " The aim of the Shadow Series is to explore the literal, metaphorical and psychological definitions of the word "shadow". These sculptures explore the absence or obtrusion of light through light absorbent surface textures and dark patination. The artist uses her own body as a reference for each sculpture alluding to the idea of the shadow as an inseparable companion. And finally the shadow represents an aspect of the unconscious mind as defined by Carl Gustav Jung within Memories, Dreams, Reflections. |
