Reference Roots About "Roots" I was inspired by the fact that all of us are stretching towards our roots. Although we are tied to life on earth, as portraid in the hand on the figures back, like something is holding him bound to what is certain to him, his forearm stretch to reach into the uncertain, that space all of us seeks on a daily basis. I chose the basis of the sculpture to be wood because to me that means it can rotten back to earth where we come from no matter what we accomplished while living. |
