Ewa Mogilnicka - "Siberia"
W: 275mm x H: 170mm
Approx. Weight: 3kg
This work is framed (but can be supplied either framed or unframed)
Siberia is one of my most emotional paintings. I found an article about Siberia in a magazine illustrated with a few photographs. The painting is designed on those photographs. The view of the Siberian village represents the sadness, nostalgia, cold and bad weather with just a few yellowish stones reminding of sun and indicating that it is a day time. Siberia was a place where many political prisoners were sent to throughout the ages. Many of them died in terrible conditions but some of them miraculously survived. In my imagination the person on the picture is one of the Polish descendants who are praying for better life and maybe return to Poland. Approximately 5000 Gemstones.
I am inspired by beauty, in particular the beauty of surrounding nature. The versitality and prettiness of the gemstones inspires me as well. My art adventure started with the gemstones almost 2 decades ago and gemstones became part of my life. The gemstones, as a creation of nature, are wonderful, atractive and emanate an atmosphere of happiness and peace. I like impressionistic, realistic and expressionistic art. I enjoy wonderful views and landscapes.
