About "Tribal Lights"
There are three distinct species of elephant left in the world: The Asian elephant and, in Africa, the forest and savannah elephant species.
A New variety.......The Tribal elephant...........
This is carved out of a board boxed canvas and painted with white acrylic paint. The back ground is blue, with fairy lights. The real beauty comes to the front at night time. As the lights are battery operated, it's a matter of flip the switch. (Load shedding comes to mind for those of you living in South Africa)

About Christel
Hi there
I grew up in Pretoria East. After school, I started my career as an Environmental Control Officer. Over the course of the next few years, I would work managing a Game Capture Team, and Managed a Game farm.
After working as an Industrial Engineering Draughtsman for 10 years, I chose a more creative path. I started with a variety of art mediums but have narrowed it down to painting, carving, macram[0xC3A9] and pewter.
Art for me is about telling a story. A blank canvas in front of an artist is both an adventure and a challenge. An adventure because you get to create something from scratch and a challenge because you don't always know how it's going to turn out. I guess it's this mystery that keeps me returning to the canvas.
I also work on commission, creating distinct pieces that will tell your story.
