About Enslin
Enslin Vorster paints in the traditional manner revealing the South African Landscape in a way that people immediately respond to. His work is a celebration of the beauty and wonder of nature and our close bond to it. He has a hunger for the external scene the earth and sky of Africa and travels continuously in search of subject matter that expresses the quintessential feeling of the South African scene. He is mentioned in the The Dictionary of South African Painters published by Everard Read and is in the Standard Bank Corporate Art Collection, his work also hang in many private, public and corporate collections locally and abroad. Vorsters paintings are of a heightened watercolours caliber and virtually all of them should delight those who are unaware of how long and arduous is the technical path which precedes reaching the point of ability which Vorster has now achieved Richard Cheales, The Citizen, 1st July 1987.Vorster Watercolours Awash With Peace Enslin Vorster watercolours are the type of art you immediately want to own. Yvonne Fontyn, Saturday Star, June 12 1993.This is Vorsters 17th solo show and I don't believe there can be a watercolourist in SA now surpassing him Michael Coulson, Financial Mail, June 10 1994 and again on 9th June 1995 Watercolours Mastery It is really difficult to find something new to say about Vorsters annual exhibitions. He is simply a superb watercolourist, who if anything gets better with time. His latest land and docks capes are wonderful examples of this most difficult media. You need look elsewhere for social comment or relevance but for evocative depictions of nature Vorster is unsurpassed.
