About "Ancient Wisdom"

When painting mandalas I try to express a feeling inside. All my mandala work are spontaneous and there is no pre-planning involved. I follow the process described by Karl Jung in which he describes mandala painting as a 'doodling' process. I simply start and work with what I have just created to create the next thing, guided by a feeling of 'what works and feels real good'. I do this within a disciplined framework which follow natural laws so that the mandala is balanced and harmonious.

Therefore, one can say that the impression which the mandala creates when completed, and the title it holds, come after the painting is finished.

In this painting, Ancient Wisdom, one might be inspired by the slightly Hopi feel of the painting, remembering that many truths and much wisdom was part of the ancients' lifestyle. A cleanliness accompanies this painting which depicts the harmony between man and untouched nature.
