About Jaco
BORN 1958, IN JHB South Africa Raised by two professional radio and stage personalities (parents.) I grew up in a theatre environment where I kept myself busy drawing at the age 6, me backstage, parents onstage 1976 employed by the South Africa defence force. 1978 employed by performing arts PACT as property maker. 1981 Cheif Property maker. 1989 Cheif Decor Painter Art training and working together with David Mackenzie (British fine artist) for 2 years also work with designers, amongest others, Johan Engels, Anthony Farmer, Neels Hansen and many more. 1985 went to Germany and did a course in prop making. 1984 Received the director's medal for outstanding work on the creations of the K2 decor. 1985 Nominated for "LILIAN AND IVAN SOLOMON AWARD". 1989 Recieved the director's medal for outstanding work on the theatre rendezvous. 1990 open my own studio. Designing and art work for, The Lost City, Golden Horse Casino, Monte Casino,and 32 restaurants and many more. 1997 Miss World Pageant in Seychells:Decor and props. 1998 Work in Dubia.Art work for Dolphin Group. 1999 work in UK London.Art work for Dolphin Group. 2000 back to SA where i am settled and working out my studio at home painting and loving it, and puting back what I got out of living and still learning, onto my canvases.
