About Theresa
Theresa (Tee) Acker: I have worked as a graphic artist for 16 years and am an obsessively busy and easily inspired person. Patterns and colours swirl though my mind constantly and I see them in everything around me.
My favourite achievement so far was to design Pieter van der Westhuizen's coffee table Art Book as well as his Etchings Book. I also designed calendars and exhibition brochures for Leonard Schneider of Carmel Art. Dealing with Leonard, Zebeth and Pieter was a wonderful experience and it was extremely inspiring to work with Pieter's art so intensively.
I have designed and illustrated many ranges of greeting cards which are sold throughout the country in shops like Cardies, the Write Shoppe, PNA, Get Graphic, Wordsworth and the Post Office. These ranges include: the Exhibition range of gift tags, Mo!, Heartbeats, That's Life, FairyBabes, Secret Garden, On Safari and Moments.
I have illustrated a range of children's books called "Peter, Pamela and Percy in the Big Spill", "Eric, in It's a Piece of Cake" and "Nicole, in The Surf is my Turf", written by Linda Fellowes (Lulu).
I am most "in my element" when I am painting and enjoy experimenting with different techniques. I love the idea of the buyer having fun with my work, so I enjoy making "sets" that you can play around with and rearrange over time.
I live and work in Kommetjie, Cape Town with my husband, George and our two kids: Nicholas (8) and Leah (6).
