About "Cracked Mountain, Karoo"

I love the Karoo and the colour of the mountains. The geological phenomena called the "Cape fold" mountains produces some amazing effects and I wanted to paint those. These mountains near Rouxpos look like they were once joined together before some sort of seismic activity split them apart. The Power of Nature!!

Nature is my inspiration. I respond to the landscape of the Western Cape, the mountains of the Western Cape, the Karoo,the Eastern Cape and the Overberg.I love trees, especially those of the Western Cape.The deserts and landscape of Namibia is also an inspiration.
