Crossing the line between the Karoo and the Hex River Valley is more dramatic than any scene in a Hollywood movie. The change in colours, textures and vegetation is as if one has left one world and entered another.

About Pierre

Based in Northcliff, Johannesburg.
Educated through travel. Lived in Johannesburg, New York, and Lagos Nigeria. Extended stays in London, Antwerp, Nairobi, Taiwan, and visits to many other countries.
Extensive self-study of art.
Many years of active photography.
Some engineering drawing experience.
I only paint in oils on stretched canvas. My paintings are usually thick impasto applied wet on wet. I mainly use brushes but some palette knife and palette knife brush combinations. Because of the thick texture of the impasto, the paintings are best assessed by viewing but I do have high-resolution images available.
All paintings advertised here are on display at my studio. Viewing by appointment.
