About "Dragon Lily"

This flower, the Dracunculus Vulgaris is a very showy monocot flower with a very surreal color and look to it, I love it!

The flower symbolizes humility and devotion, lilies symbolize that the soul of the departed has received restored innocence after death - what more can one ask for in the afterlife?

There are more than 90 different species lilies which includes the Dracunculus Vulgaris - an aroid known as the Dragon Lily. In Greece, where a part of the native range can be found this Lily has also been called the "Dracondia" - the long spadix being viewed as a small dragon hiding in the spathe...

The large palmate leaves have occasional cream flecks along the veins and this mysterious flower has a very unpleasant smell reminiscent of rotting meat in order to attract flies as pollinators.

The painting will be a lovely addition to a corridor, study area, office or any corner with a well-lit area. It is truly a unique flower.
