Marika de Wet was born on 5th November 1972, studied a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry and later trained and practised as an aromatherapist and Reiki therapist. Marix is the name she sign all her works of art, the name being part of her personal growth in art and tribute to the people who helped made it possible.Marika continues to focus on animal studies. She is extremely fond of animals, the simple natural life and nature and this is where she gets most of her inspiration for her work focussing on their facial expressions bringing to life own true emotions within. The nude studies she paints straight from the heart. The painter is not important, the feeling that it brings across is most important and this to her is a personal thing. Her expressive style displays a great variety in the use and combination of colours that causes different effects and emotions and the use of acrylic enables her to combine a water wash with a more thicker texture, creating and expressive, striking feel. Art is her hobby, her mystery and the medium to express her spiritual and emotional feelings. It brings to life the beauty of colour in nature in an expressive and explosive manner and exploits the inner being of oneself. Price Range US$ 732-732 Exhibitions 2001. Education Tuition in oils by the renowned wildlife artist Martin Koch People who chose Marika's work also chose work by: Find other:
