About "Fields of Mica, Richtersveld"

I love the Richtersveld in Namibia. The soil has a very shiny silver look. The lighting on that day made the micah in the soil glint silvery and the mountains looked black against the dawn sky. We travelled to Namibia in 2010 and it was a great experience. The roads are open and the desert landscape is calming to the soul. I was inspired to capture that peacefulness in a painting.

About Viv

Nature is my inspiration. I respond to the landscape of the Western Cape, the mountains of the Western Cape, the Karoo,the Eastern Cape and the Overberg.I love trees, especially those of the Western Cape.The deserts and landscape of Namibia is also an inspiration.
