When I saw this photo of my friends grand daughter, I had a sudden urge to capture her on canvas. As this was my first Portrait of a child I have learned so much about the difference in painting children from adults...

Retta displays an uncompromising ability to capture and paint nature scenes and especially detail perfectly. She is also adept in all other areas of painting, drawing an mixed media. She chooses work that is arresting in intensity but harmonious to her senses of her world. Well travelled and exposed to many art techniques; she combines charm and skill to all her paintings.
