About "Gold Leaf in Gold-Leaf 1"

This painting is one of three in a series in which I was inspired to use gold-leaf after seeing some of Preller's works. I always enjoy trying new mediums and although this one proved quite a challenge I thoroughly perfecting it. the inspiration to paint a gold leaf using gold leaf came when I was conversing with my classmate who was working in gold leaf and we were discussing the use of word play in art.
