About "Karoo Vista" When I painted this view of my relative's farm that had belonged to the family for over 250 years, with its iconic Sjinesehoed mountain in the distance, I had planned to paint in the windmill, fences, gates and old broken wagon, but I loved the feeling that had emerged of how Karoo must have looked when the long gone ancestor, on horseback, first marked out the farm. |
