About "Led by Grace Painting"

Led by Grace Painting is a powerful expression of faith, discernment and the quiet confidence that comes from trusting God's direction. With her eyes open and lifted towards heaven, she reflects the believer who seeks not only to pray, but also to recognise the path God is revealing. Her posture speaks of complete dependence on the Creator while remaining attentive to His guidance in everyday life.

This original oil painting portrays the balance between prayer and action. It reminds us that faith is more than asking--it is listening, watching and stepping forward with courage when God opens the next door. The calm expression and upward gaze symbolise hope, expectation and the assurance that every step is directed by His perfect wisdom.

Painted in oils on canvas, Led by Grace combines realistic portraiture with expressive textures and warm, luminous tones that create an atmosphere of peace and spiritual reflection. The rich brushwork gives the painting depth and character, inviting the viewer to pause and consider their own journey of faith. Whether displayed in a home, study, office or prayer room, it serves as a daily reminder that God faithfully guides those who trust Him.

For collectors of Christian-inspired art, Led by Grace is a timeless statement of hope, courage and unwavering trust. It celebrates the promise that when we seek God wholeheartedly, He faithfully lights the way forward.

About Ida

Ida Lombard

Ida Lombard is a South African contemporary artist whose work explores light, nature, movement and the emotions hidden within a moment. Her distinctive Abstract Realism combines expressive oil painting, acrylics and mixed media to move beyond literal representation and reveal the atmosphere and feeling within her subjects.

Her connection with art began in childhood, influenced by time spent exploring the natural world and early exposure to the discipline of painting. After formal art studies and more than four decades of continued independent practice, Ida has developed a highly expressive visual language characterised by textured surfaces, energetic brushwork, palette-knife marks, expressive drips and layered colour.

Wildlife, landscapes, seascapes, botanical subjects and portraits recur throughout her work, with themes of light, stillness, vulnerability, endurance, hope and transformation. Rather than simply reproducing what she sees, Ida seeks to capture the spirit of a subject--the quiet tension beneath stillness, the movement within a landscape, or the emotional presence of an animal.

Today, Ida works full-time from her Johannesburg studio, creating original paintings for private collectors in South Africa and internationally. Her work is influenced by the expressive energy of artists such as Vincent van Gogh and Vladimir Volegov, as well as the storytelling power found in South African wildlife art.

Each painting is created as an original work, with professional artist-quality materials and a Certificate of Authenticity.
