Juliet Goddard - "Madiba"
Oil on Canvas
W: 510mm x H: 510mm x D: 30mm
This work is unframed
I painted Nelson Mandela a.k.a Madiba because to me he epitomizes peace. He dreamed of an Africa which is in Peace with itself and he was an inspiration not only to South Africans but to people all around the world! He knew that if he didn't leave his bitterness and haterd behind him as he walked out of his prison door towards freedom, he would have still been in prison.
Painting is my rush. It whisks me away to a place full of unlimited potential and beauty. I'm unabashedly addicted to beauty and I'm humbly grateful that I've been gifted with a talent to be able to create it through art.
I am currently exhibiting in the Plett Gallery and the Lookout Gallery which are both located in the town centre of Plettenberg Bay as well as a botique shop in the Old Nick Village, Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. I will also be participating in an up-coming exhibition which will be held in The Sweetwaters Barn, Sweetwaters Farm, The Crags from the 17th -20th of December.
