We visited the Kruger National Park and did a drive near Crooks Corner and there were many of these beautiful Baobab trees. I went crazy photographing these trees with many paintings in my heart. So here is "Magestic"

About Valerie

I am a South African oil painter from East London whose work explores the beauty of nature through colour, realism and expressive mark-making. My paintings combine contemporary floral realism with impressionistic and abstract influences. Recognisable flowers are surrounded by layered, painterly backgrounds in which colour, texture and movement create atmosphere and emotion.

Working from my sun-filled studio, I approach each painting with curiosity and a willingness to experiment. Inspired by flowers, light, nature and the richness of everyday life, I seeks not only to paint what I see, but to capture the feeling it evokes. My work is ultimately about beauty, optimism and the joy of being alive.
