About "My Sweet Thai Spirit"

In Thailand, I came across this little sculpture. It was love at first sight. There are hundreds of these all over Thailand, but this particular one reached me like no other. It was as though she had a kind, healing spirit. The next day I felt the same, so I drew her to keep her close-by.

About Genevieve

Born in South Africa.
I have traveled extensively. My favourite way of assimilating the experience of each country is through drawing, painting and photography.

I have drawn and painted my whole life. My art has provided me with a loyal friend at times, a defiant fiend at others. Whilst I have frequently worked from dreams over the years, my most recent work involves archetypal subject matter. It is an exciting dialogue with the subconscious.

In broad categories, my work includes: still-life, nudes, landscapes, portraits, travelogues, wildlife, animals, interiors and buildings, abstracts.
