Carine Marais - "Nude"
Oil on Canvas
W: 600mm x H: 800mm x D: 40mm
Approx. Weight: 7kg
This work is framed (but can be supplied either framed or unframed)
With the dark background and chiaroscuro effects I tried to capture the same feeling of an old master’s painting. I appreciate the beauty of the human body, but prefer a subtle rendering, like back studies. This painting is one of two, framed similarly (frame can be shown on demand), but is also available on its own.
God created a perfect and beautiful universe. I am blessed with a talent to portray everything I see in a very realistic way. I grew up in the small town of Prince Alfred[0x1]s Hamlet and attended school there. I studied art at Stellenbosch University under Prof. Larry Scully, who taught me to look at my object as if I am in love with it. For nine years I was an art teacher at Diamantveld High School, Kimberley, and then Hugo Naude Art Centre, Worcester.
