About Johannes J

Jay-Jay perceives the artist as an observer and witness to lifes processes, rhythms and changes, the transformation and metamorphosis in the often light-hearted dynamic and spiritual interaction between nature and human life. The artist gives expression to an idea, concept, mood, feeling or realization by means of line, form, shape, space, perspective, proportion, density, colour, contrast and texture which (s)he manipulates by means of various media.
Jay-Jay uses oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolours, inks, pencils, crayons, charcoal, collage, spray paint, glass paint, wire, beads, etc. Often mixed to express himself by means of various styles that develop through experimentation as the magic of the work speaks indirectly through whatever symbols manifest themselves. The mystique of the particular becomes transcendent and archetypal within the context of the work. The artist functions as a kind of healer that brings to the viewer a cosmic vision and interpretation of various aspects of reality.
