About "On the Rocks"
Beige is dependable, conservative, and flexible. The color beige is neutral, calm, and relaxing. The attributes and meanings associated with beige change based on the colors it accompanies.
The color beige offers some of the warmth of the color brown and the some of the crisp and coolness of the color white.
You can sense that calmness in the painting. The 3D circle eliminates and I used high relief in the center and the sides. Hang the painting together, back to back or separate from a never ending look! Painting done over two canvasses.

About Christel
Hi there
I grew up in Pretoria East. After school, I started my career as an Environmental Control Officer. Over the course of the next few years, I would work managing a Game Capture Team, and Managed a Game farm.
After working as an Industrial Engineering Draughtsman for 10 years, I chose a more creative path. I started with a variety of art mediums but have narrowed it down to painting, carving, macram[0xC3A9] and pewter.
Art for me is about telling a story. A blank canvas in front of an artist is both an adventure and a challenge. An adventure because you get to create something from scratch and a challenge because you don't always know how it's going to turn out. I guess it's this mystery that keeps me returning to the canvas.
I also work on commission, creating distinct pieces that will tell your story.
