About "Orange-Breasted Sunbird"

I have always been in awe of God and Jesus' creation. I have always loved birds and the sunbirds are among my absolute favourites. Until this painting, I could not relate to being sentimentally attached to an artwork. Perhaps I have become attached to this painting because of the amount of dedication, patience and love that has gone into it, painting with complete faith that God and Jesus would achieve Their desired effect through my hands. This painting is also a team effort and I have to give my daughter credit for mixing the perfect vivid green that I could not mix myself. This is a painting that I would very happily look at day after day and never get bored of. I never say such things about my own art work but this is truly an honest fact. Thank you to wildlife photographer Ignacio Yufera for permitting me to use his beautiful photograph as my reference.

My love of nature dates back to my very early childhood. This theme is evident throughout my work. God, Jesus and the nature They bless us with, are my pivotal inspiration.
The subjects I choose to paint are personally significant and often within my space. My works are depictions of my life story, fascinations and preoccupations, using various media.
