About "Proudly Amaryllis"

Breathtaking Amaryllis in a pot placed at a window. The scene is painted from an interestingly low angle which adds drama.

About Liz

Liz Fitzhenry

Liz Fitzhenry has been painting for nearly 60 years and is known for her vibrant and varied work: Her strong sense of colour, interesting composition and original choice of subjects celebrate nature and also enable the viewer to see beauty in everyday things.
She studied Art as a special subject as part of her teachers training, was taught by Marj Bowen (Oils), Julie Paton (Watercolour), as well as the renowned South African artist George Boys. However, she is mostly self-taught through reading widely and practising her skills with discipline. She has also taught others.
Although her work is imaginative and unique, she has been inspired by great artists and has visited many galleries around the world. Over the years she has exhibited regularly, both solo and with other artists.
Now in her eighties, she still paints as a Way of Life.
