About Phillip

Phillip Steyn

"As a child my keen interest in visual art was obvious. My body of work to date consists of some 2000 created artworks in the care of art buyers and collectors globaly, as artists we are dependant on public buyers and support. Art to me is my way of contributing the best of myself back to society in gratitude for this support. l offer you a look at the natural beauty around us, the people that shape and inhabit our world. Through character and expression l communicate their humanity to you, a smile or a glance - to capture that expression in a face of a person in my own impressionistic style of painting is a thrill to me as an artist. Depicting family portraits, different cultures with their colourfull traditions and our animal kingdom through my art in a manner that is pleasing to the eye. I believe these themes are worthy of our praise and consideration."
Phillip Steyn

Born in 1975 Phillip Steyn has spent his life honing his skills in all things art. A accounting of his artists endevours incude art framing and instalation , garden furniture sculptor and painting repairing. Murals and year end functions decorator. Ceramic sculptor and poet , but what Phillip is most known for is the 2000+ paintings he has sold since 2000 . This body of work comprising of a veriety of themes really speak of his ability to capture emotions on canvas and evoke mood with use of colour. Some pieces manipulate texture in efective ways or focus simply on a subtle pallete to covey the scene . The artist is able to use a wide veriety of skills learnt thru experience gained by many years of brushmilage to express what ever he wants to celebrate thru the works , from portrait studies and pet portraits to impressive large scale commission instalations . Phillip not only has the skills required to faithfully capture a clients likeness on canvas but the flair and confidance to sucsesfully render more abstract compositions that rely on colours or various mixed mediums to transition into 3 dimentional work of art. The love and detail infused into even the smallest of these works bearing his signature reflects the age old motto of putting your best into everything you do.
