About "Red Flowers"

Painted in an art class with Malachi Smith in 2008. He gave the class permission to paint these and sell them if we wish. I enjoyed the impressionistic approach very much. This one was my favourite by far!

About Joy

Joy Clark

I love a challenge and am always planning the next project. Love to learn new techniques and am on a never-ending mission to produce art in any form. I have painted as far back as I can remember. I had a successful Pottery Studio in Richards Bay for 20 years, during which time I was commissioned to do many large murals. Am also very involved with Quilting which has become a recognized form of art and I have had the pleasure of teaching quilting skills to many women in Richards Bay. We moved to Kini Bay, Eastern Cape 2 years ago and since then the wonderful sea view has become my main inspiration. How can one see such beauty every day and not paint? I feel like the luckiest person alive and hope that my paintings can bring joy to other people somehow.
INSPIRED BY: Helen Van Wyk; Louis Audie; Andr[0xC3A8] Grobler; Paul Schmidt; Melanie Cambridge; Ken Howard; and many many other wonderful artists...the list goes on and on!
ART TEACHERS: Grace Brokensha 1974; RB Tech College 1985; Diamond Boza 1985; Thelma Buzzard 1986; Barbara Mouton 1986; Matt Louwrens 1987; Nick Stobart 2008; Malachi Smith 2008; Jason DeFrey 2010; Esme Goosen 2010; Since 2010 I have delved into the exciting and wonderful world of Art Quilting and Fiber Art. I have done quite a few portraits with thread painting which is quite a challenge.
