About "Reflections On..."

The mesmerising sea can always steal time from me. The rhythmic waves, the vastness, the eternal tides all conspire to draw me into myself. Time for deep reflection and often trancelike contemplation is deeply relaxing.
I ask myself what the subject of this painting is thinking as she stares into the distance under her protective red umbrella?

I'm inspired by the play of light - how it reveals emotion in landscapes, figures, and fleeting moments.
