About Joanne
I have always lived with a passion to create beautiful things. Even as the years go by, the beauty and splendour of nature, the perfect harmony, colour, tone and texture fascinated me and I found myself on a journey of discovery under the guidance of the Master Creator.
A dramatic turn of events brought about by a hiking accident in the Franschhoek Mountains, brought me in contact with Betty Wood-Lambrechts, a talented painter. She tutored and mentored my shaky introduction to the world of art. Those painting classes in her little studio were like the explosion of the sun, moon and stars all at the same time!
The depiction of all things beautiful ranging from expressionistic landscapes, flowers, ancient Provencal scenes, streetscapes, Bo-Kaap scenes, fishing villages and colourful people became the passion of my life.
Over a period of 39 years I have occupied myself in this wonderful way and I gain tremendous joy and fulfillment from this, while always exploring different ways of depicting this glorious thing we call…. LIFE!!
