About Lene

Lene Pienaar

Lene A. Pienaar
Lene A. Pienaar is a South African fine artist whose work fuses realism, symbolism, and spiritual resonance into paintings that feel both intimate and monumental. Known for her limited palette and striking mood, her art is technically impeccable yet most remembered for its intangible, soul-stirring qualities.
Pienaar's practice extends beyond traditional canvas: through her pioneering Constructed Canvas works, she layered wood, mirror, and textiles into three-dimensional hybrids, foreshadowing her later creation of SONA -- a groundbreaking art form weaving story, sound, and vision into embodied journeys.
Her greatest desire is not spectacle, but encounter: to open thresholds where the beauty of God and the depth of the human spirit meet, leaving viewers moved, changed, and compelled to linger.
