About Tanya
TANYA NIERMANS - Not responding to orders - cant reach
Born 1951 Harare, Zimbabwe
I have always been interested in painting from a little girl, my father Rudolf Niermans was well known in Zimbabwe and Holland and was an artist with amazing skills. I would watch silently while he painted and sculpted, and sometimes paint with him giving me direction.
On finishing High School with Matric including art, I then went to College to further my education. I have a diploma in interior decorating, and have also recently ventured into face painting.
Having been mainly self-taught I enjoy many subjects including abstract, landscapes, fantasy and animals, and have sold quite a few paintings for children, of which some are now hanging in Europe.
No doubt I have inherited my talent from my great great grandparents Rudolf Jordan, his wife Sophie and their daughter Maria who were renowned artists and their works are in Drasdan, Helgoland, Baden-Baden and other famous galleries worldwide. Some of the titles of the paintings are, Old Man Shipwreck, Wedding Offering and Fishers Life.
Art has brought a new and clearer meaning of life for me.
