About "Street Seller"
In the city of Johannesburg the streets are full of woman selling their wares. I loved the way the sun shone through her hat dappling her face. She was selling food from her aluminum pots seen behind her.
"It has always been a dream of mine to be an Artist but life just happened and I never got around to doing anything about it. Being a full-time Mom and Granny was what occupied most of my time. Then eight years ago I started to draw and I just could not stop. I remember starting on a portrait sketch one evening and drinking coffee (lots of it) and then hearing birds chirping and I suddenly realized I had been at it all night. I watched the sun gently light up my front garden with a feeling of great satisfaction and pure bliss. And now as I spend time in my studio I wait for that magic moment when I am transported into another world where time stands still. All I want to do is make pictures, they keep me alive!"
