I am always in awe of these poppy-like flowers. When it is back lit, the sticky droplets used to catch insects, are spectacular. I love how they seem to dance in the wind.

About Annelie
I am living on a farm in the Sandveld between Velddrif and Piketberg. I am inspired by my surroundings and the wealth of indigenous wildflowers of the area. The detailed, sensitive (almost impressionistic) paintings stems from a fusion of my scientific background and creative spirit. The images transcend the mere physical appearance of the subject and become visual poetry about Creation.
