About "The Rock Pool"
The Ocean inspires me daily. Lived by the water past 30 years. I use mrsllics, silvers and Pearl Nacre powder to offer up the luminous nature of The Ocean. It sparked at Dawn...glows at sunset and throws up silver hues late afternoon. I try to capture that mercurial essence in my work.

Catherine's work captures the beauty of Nature. She explores and reveals the weathering effects of exposure and time -unpredictable, yet certain. There is a sense that change is constant - creation, growth, weathering, erosion, repair, decay and rebirth ... The rich surfaces on her canvases reflect the cyclical processes of Life.
These prices are standard throughout the world for this globally collected artist but South African residents do receive special discounts for a direct buy from the artist as Africa is the original place of Creative Genesis and where this journey begun.
True to her appreciation of Natural Law, the nature of her style is process driven. The artist uses gravity, chemical reaction and evaporation as her allies. When handling the syrupy paints she spills, heaves, rubs, sands back, dilutes and drips. Layer upon layer of shear and translucent earthy glazes create an ambiguity of depth and floating form. Equally at home in a cutting edge modern environment or illuminating antique gems, these works live and bring life to their surroundings.
The art has become especially reveered for its incandescent nature in that it changes as the light of the day changes and then profoundly again at night with the onset of evening and internal lighting changes. Quite a magical process to enjoy day in and day out. Because the light is different each day, so us the art work...ever changing.
