About "The Silent One " We visited my cousins lodge at Hoedspruit, South Africa. There we saw the most wonderful wild life. This painting was done from a photograph Johan, her husband, took of a leopard in the wild. I named it "The Silent One", because it is indeed a rare encounter to see a leopard face to face in the wild. |

Adele Nortje started painting as a teenager, but because of a full career, only started painting again, after 30 years under the name ANOR. She studied art at UNISA (changing over to Communication because of her carreer) and then under various tutors: Marikie Nel, Jeanne Grove, Richard Reni, Stan Paulsen and Willie Jacobs. Nature in all its facets fascinates her, from the micro world of cells, genes and insects, to the plains of Africa.
