About "The Walk 2 - CR Swart and Kowie Road" A friend and I take a 5k walk every day in our neighbourhood for fitness, but we also share our thoughts, dreams, issues and future plans.These walks have played a great role in cementing our friendship and we cherish them a lot. I wanted to preserve this period in our lives so have begun a series of small paintings of scenes from our walk, with special focus on the suburban pathways and landscape we pass. This is the second of the series. |

There is sometimes a quirky sense of humour to my work, I like creating scenarios you would not see in real life that let you wonder about them. I like to show there is beauty in the mundane and the everyday. I am more likely to portray a humble pig than a proud lion, a simple rock rather than a grand vista. Every painting has a story and has meant something to me.
