About "Three Red Tulips"

This painting was created as a digital commission for Christmas cards. Experimenting with different adaptations to my usual tulip paintings, I took a leap of faith and Three Red Tulips was created! I love the energy and sense of peace and rhythme this work gives.

About Aneesah

Aneesah Wilhelmstätter

Aneesah Bakker Wilhelmstaetter (1967) is a South African Artist who has also lived, painted and exhibited in the Netherlands, Paris and London. She is a self-taught artist who has enjoyed phenomenal success at the Kunstrai 2001 in Amsterdam - where her work was acquired by the Director.

Her work can be found in collections in more than fifteen countries, including Japan, Sweden, Uganda, South Africa, USA, Dubai and all over Europe. Prominent collectors include the current Dutch Ambassador to Uganda, a South African Ambassador, a firm of attorneys in South Africa, Directors of various banks, and many others.

When asked about her inspiration and her work this is what Aneesah says: "My paintings reflect my roots - my rich, exotic and colourful cultural heritage and background. Painting and the artwork I create is an extension of myself and my connection with the Essence of Life. Painting helps me remember who I am and what I think life is all about. Painting reflects my passion for connection and personal integrity as well as creativity and courage.

My artwork is figurative in style, embracing in varying degrees the abstract - thus creating a vibrant connection that I like to call "fusion". I represent ideas and energy through the use of stylized decorative swirls, spirals, stars and symbols that often touch on the mystical.

I enjoy playing with colour, form and composition as a whole to create and aesthetically pleasing, uplifting and innovative work.

I find my inspiration particularly from Primitive Art, dreams, fantasy, mythology, legends and life's lessons. In painting, I feel I have found my life's true calling, my passion if you may. I feel blessed to be able to share this gift with others.

I also hope that those viewing my art, experience the energy, enthusiasm and joy for life that I experience when I create my works of art".
