About "Tomar Flower Shop"

On a recent trip to Portugal, I went for a walk around the village and was struck by the character and story to be found in the old architecture. With this image I was taken by the contrast of the fresh vibrant flowers and the old dingy buildings.

With each work I try to bring expression to a defining moment in time in my personal journey through life and my relationship with God.I wish to bring glory to our Heavenly Creator in whom we live and move and have our being and without whom nothing can exist.
I am often inspired by a Scripture verse,a song,a prayer or an image that draws my attention.Sometimes it's an emotion or yearning within me that responds to these things, sometimes it's a memory and sometimes its just the possibilities to experiment with texture and colour and shade that grab me.
People inspire me and I love the beauty of the human form and the way that a mood or emotion can be conveyed by the pose and the contrast of light and dark.
